Mexican Candy Smoothie

This smoothie, inspired by sweet, salty, savory, spicy Mexican candy, brings together watermelon, mango, tamarind, and tajin (a mix of salt, dried lime, and dried chili flakes), is perfect for when you are craving something a little different.

Ingredients

2 cups cold, seedless watermelon chunks
1 large, ripe mango, cubed
1 tablespoon tamarind paste (e.g. tamicon)
1 ripe plum, cubed
1 teaspoon tajin (or 1/2 teaspoon each chili flakes, salt, and lime juice)

Method

  1. Using a high speed blender, blend the watermelon, plum, tamarind and mango on the smoothie/whole fruit juice setting.
  2. Pour into glasses and top with the tajin.
