10 Awesome Vegan YouTube Channels

They are cooking, travelling, researching, going to expos, and debunking medical myths. Armed with only a camera and a mic, and maybe some tofu for good measure, they share their lives and opinions, and teach us how extraordinarily beautiful this lifestyle is. They are the vegan YouTubers, and if you haven’t watched their channels, now is the time to start. These are ten of my favorite vegan channels, in no particular order.

  1. Sweet Potato Soul: This channel is what happens when you combine beautiful recipes, seasonal ingredients, and gorgeous cinematography. Every episode features something incredible, often with a southern flair (Jenne, the vlogger, grew up in Georgia). If I was going to cook the best brunch of my life, I would visit this channel for inspiration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkz0oH1JrAM
  2. Mic. the Vegan: Pronounced “Mike”, Mic. the vegan is packed with information on the benefits of a plant based diet as proven in numerous studies. While the site is research-focused, Mic.s’ presentation style is witty and entertaining. His topics are educational, too, like The Fountain of Youth is an Equation:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LN6NAONNDc
  3. Happy Healthy Vegan: If you think all the vegan YouTubers are under 50, think again. Husband and wife duo, Ryan and Anji, have created a channel that is both informative and provocative. From munching on vegan snack boxes, to brunching around Southern California, to debating fake news, to sharing recipes, this channel has it all.  Think dreamy California sunsets, Farmers’ Markets, and tasty waves all set to the best soundtrack ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUFKvxNezJA
  4. Veggie Rose: Veggie Rose creates some of the most interesting vegan food on YouTube– comfort food with a Latin spin. Sink your teeth into hearts of palm ceviche, vegan empanadas, and Philly cheese steaks with all homemade (and heart made) ingredients. She’s making the kind of food you find in the best vegan restaurants. And on (sweet) Saturdays, she makes desserts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9oqC35DRh4
  5. Unnatural Vegan: If you want to see a balanced perspective, this is the channel to watch. Each video explores a topic or concern and is supported with research. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Ja53Lfu0s
  6. Cheap Lazy Vegan: Well, this channel implies two things– the food will be cheap and it will be easy. It certainly delivers on that front, but there is so much more. From What I Ate in a Day videos to creative new recipes, this channel will inspire you to start cooking with what you already have in your pantry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhQqfw8UAUY
  7. The Edgy Veg: Vegan food porn, that’s what this is. Veganized Guiness cupcakes, Cadbury creme eggs, Chick Fil-a sandwich… it’s cheat day on steroids. This is a good channel for finding recipes to share at your next party.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGS1OsD–OY
  8. Nutritionfacts.org: This incredibly informative and popular channel. Dr. Michael Gregor, author of How Not to Die, is the presenter. He’s regarded as the authority on all things plant-based, and is often cited by other vegan experts. YouTubers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU_RkeA88DY
  9. Vegan Zombie: From food hauls to celebrity interviews, to taste tests this channel has a lot of fabulous content. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e0tdBStvQg
  10. Avante Garde Vegan: To die for recipes with meal prep and and budget cooking tips. This is a serious foodie channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihfFG-hDrm8
